This summer I've mostly been working and begun my career as a nurse. It's very interesting work, and I was so fortunate to get a position at a palliative ward. Most of the patients are cancer patients in the late stages of the disease, and most of them die at our ward. There are a lot of medication treatment, pumps, IVs and wounds that we need to work with, and I feel I've learned a lot just in a few weeks. Most of my shifts are nightshifts, so I have to take a lot of decisions on my own without having many other nurses to consult with. But so far I've gotten excellent feedback. My coworkers are positive to me from what I can see, the patients and their families have on occasion been relieved when I've been the one to show up for a nightshift. That alone makes all the hard work worth it, knowing that I'm wanted and needed as a professional health worker.

Now, artwise! I've gotten a Wacom Intuos 3 that I bought for my tax return, and I've done a few commissions this summer. Though I haven't posted them online, as they have been mostly for papers (my former college profs. have commissioned me and been excellent customers) and they have been exclusive for their use. But behold, Desucon 3 is coming up in the end of October. Anime and manga have only started becoming popular over here in Norway during the last years, and finally we have a con that will take place at Oslo congress center. Yours truly have requested a table there, and I've asked people on japani.no (Norway's biggest anime forum) on what sort of art they would like prints of. A great deal of people there know me through my art, so I think I could earn some money there, perhaps accept a few commissions and so.

Either way, Desucon is going to be awesome! Since I can't sew, I've bought my costume already. I'm going as Unohana Retsu from Bleach, as I'm going to be head of the medical crew there. I won't get much time to hang around, but I bet it will be awesome anyway and great times for all the people coming. So if you're Norwegian and can go to Oslo on October 25th, go there and meet other anime and manga fans! Mingle, play games, chat, cosplay and enjoy!

Now I need to do some actual housework. <.<
